ONE HOUR TABOGA ISLAND TOUR
Taboga Island, one of the islands nearest
to Panama City, is frequented regularly by
tourists and Panamanian citizens alike. Sitting
just off the Pacific coast, the island can
be seen on a clear day from the downtown city
area. With few trails and full time residents,
Taboga Island has a national wildlife reserve
on the far side of the island, which can be
reached by walking along the well maintained
trail that leaves from the peer and climbs
over the top of the island. The small town
has a few stores, mostly catering to residents
needs, as well as two hotels and public beach
areas.
Your trip to Taboga Island, which takes approximately
20-25 minutes, begins at the airport or one
of the city´s heliports and proceeds alongside
or directly over the Bridge of the Americas.
La calzada de Amador, Panamas largest breakwater,
will appear as you depart from the city area.
For most of your trip youll fly at 1 500
ft., all of which will be over ocean water.
Ample time will be available to view the many
ships on anchorage, waiting for their transit
through the Canal. As we approach Taboga you
will be able to see the island in its entirety,
perhaps circling it once. Depending on the
amount of time you spend viewing the island
and weather conditions, a brief tour of Panama
City may or may not be accommodated upon your
return to Panama City. That decision will
be made at the appropriate time.
Upon request, we can provide a drop-off /
pick-up service for those who would like to
extend their visit on Taboga Island to a one
half day or full day. For more information
regarding this special service, please feel
free to contact our office via e-mail.
